This is a very true story on nurses around the country, Nurses are “given” too many tasks”. There is less ancillary staff to help out with menial tasks such as bathing, bringing a patient something to drink, walking to bathroom, etc. If there is a shortage of nurses for the next shift, there will usually be a requirement for a nurse on the shift prior to oncoming shift may be required to stay. Working over 12 hours a day is rough. 16 hours even worse. If you are in a job that requires you to be on call, you could be working 24 hours straight.
