Mentor the Novice Nurse

Twenty-percent of first year nurses quit! So more hospitals are investing in longer, more thorough residency programs. One is the Versant RN Residency, which was developed at Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles and since 2004 has spread to 70 other hospitals nationwide. One hospital noted its turnover rate reduced from 22% to 10% in 18 months since starting the program.
